(C) Calcified plaque with corresponding transversal section demonstrating circular pattern of calcium accumulation. The corresponding VH IVUS image confirms the circular deposition of dense calcium in the plaque. Noncalcified tissue located behind the calcium is depicted, which is not visible on the MSCT images due to the partial volume effect of extensive calcifications.
